What is a foundation slab?
A foundation slab is both a foundation and a ground floor in one structure. It can be recognized by a so-called “edge beam” (in Dutch: vorstrand) in construction drawings of the wall and load-bearing structure. This type of floor is mainly used in industrial halls, warehouses and construction projects where an even distribution of loads is important.
The foundation slab is a key part of the load-bearing structure. A foundation itself is a concrete structure (or in older buildings masonry) on which the floor is constructed.
Lifting and stabilizing sunken foundation slabs
When a foundation slab shows signs of subsidence, Faber Vloerliften can sustainably restore it to its original level and stabilize it. Using advanced injection techniques, we fill voids beneath the slab and carefully lift the entire structure back to the correct level.
As filling material, we use innovative foam concrete developed and tested in our own laboratory. By also having it independently certified, we can guarantee its load-bearing capacity, compressive strength and minimal impact on soil quality. Our in house developed foam concrete is ultra-light, extremely strong and fully recyclable. This makes Faber Vloerliften an environmentally conscious and high-quality solution for the sustainable restoration of foundation slabs.

It is important to first determine the cause of the settlement. We can help you with this assessment. Please note: foundation repair is a separate specialization.
